Mama Simple Cooks

Family owned and operated business, Mama's opened March 22, 2017. We are Open Tuesday through Friday from 11:00 am to 8:30 pm and on Saturday from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. The business is closed Sunday and Monday for God & family.

Select Saturdays Mama's also provides live entertainment.

We have weekly specials and offer discount to honor military, law enforcement, medical personal, Fire Department.

Owned and operated by parents, Michael and Chastity 'Mama' Horton, and their six birth children: Brittany, Sumer, Windi, Lucas, Ira, and Charity along with (add-on son), Austin. The family settled in White Pine in 1998, making Tennessee their home. The business is named after Mama and may use some of her recipes but Michael is the main cook.

Michael has worked two jobs most of our married life and we thought it would be a great idea if we could just have a family business and be able to spend more time together. The business would not be a family business without the whole family coming together and fulfilling the duties together. All of us are learning to work together along with learning some new skills and the children learning to working for what you want.

Michael is teaching the older Children Sumer, Lucas & Windi how to prepare foods. Sumer: when not helping in the family business, she is in management at a store College Square Mall in Morristown. Chastity (Mama) and her own mother, along with her daughter, Windi, make handmade crafts that are sold in the restaurant. Michael has been in food management for over 20 yrs. in the past Michael has also been a part of a special group of people who would travel around opening new restaurants and training the workers.

In the short time being open, we appreciate the support and well wishes of prosperity of the business from regular guests and the others of the community. We are currently collecting donations of school supplies for the Mosheim students. To help with this we are hosting a car show July 22nd from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm with school supplies being the registration fee. We like being part of Mosheim, and look forward to making memories in Mosheim in the future.
